by Amy Swartz

Amy got out her rhyming dictionary and we came up with my song:

Raindrops on roosters and feathers on chickens
Bright yellow raincoats and warm comfy buckskins
Brown paper wrappings that hold chicken wings
These are a few of my favorite things

Cream colored car seats and crisp brand new doormats
Doorbells that ring giving me something to bark at
Wild fish that swim in a lake, stream or spring
These are a few of my favorite things

Girls in fleece jackets with poopy bag holders
Snowflakes that melt and warm winters and clean fur
Silver food dishes to eat like a king
These are a few of my favorite things

When the cat bites

When the shot stings

When I’m feeling mad

I simply demand more treats, walks and chicken wings

And then I don’t feel so bad

It’s not exactly Rogers and Hammerstein, but it’s an ode to my love of chicken.  It’s hard to rhyme when I keep making myself hungry.  I better go pace around my food dish so Amy gets the hint.
